I have limited experience with distance learning aside from quarantine and the Covid-19 pandemic. But this wasn’t so much distance learning as it was online learning. Aside from stronger reliance on Canvas, Teams, and Zoom the only new technology/app I used during that time was Flipgrid. Flipgrid is similar to iMovie, and it allowed me to create videos and share them with my teachers and classmates. While I have used Google Docs more often in college, I think using them in middle school and high school would have been helpful. Since Google Docs are living documents, they allow for more interaction. Same idea with the platform Miro that we use in class from time to time. I think online and distance learning has the ability to isolate students at times and interactive documents and activities help to lessen the divide while also making lessons more inclusive and engaging for different learners.
